DBHIDS Peer Gathering Success

Our recent Peer Support Gathering brought together nearly 80 peers, supervisors, providers, and partners — and the energy in the room was incredible. Attendees left feeling connected, enthusiastic, and reinvigorated.

A key moment came when DBHIDS Commissioner Kenny Solanke acknowledged that our system has drifted from fully supporting the peer workforce and affirmed her commitment to change that. She emphasized the importance of thriving wages for peers and linked this work directly to the

DBHIDS CARE Framework — Connection, Access, Resilience, and Equity.

Her message reinforced that strengthening peer culture is central to how DBHIDS is building a system rooted in CARE: creating meaningful connections, expanding access, supporting resilience, and advancing equity across Philadelphia.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this gathering a powerful step toward a more connected, visible, and supported peer workforce.
