First Friday Series – Family-Focused Resource Fair at CBH

The First Friday Series Meetings are Networking and Resource Sharing Meetings, that are Open to the Public! These “Stakeholder” Meetings are a series of (10) individual Meetings which are designed to increase awareness of Behavioral Health (BH) and Intellectual disAbility Services (IDS) Resources, Trainings, Opportunities, etc., that are available. Since DBHIDS is under “Systems Transformation”, it is important that all of the Stakeholders are involved in the process, as the goal is to have meaningful and positive outcomes!

We always welcome passionate, courageous & dedicated Cross-Systems Partners to join our “diverse and inclusive” “Panel Discussions. We cover a range of relevant Topics and offer FREE “Resource Vending” Opportunities at every Meeting.

Transformation Decade

TRANSFORMATION DECADE CELEBRATION

The year 2015 marked the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services’ 10th year anniversary of our system transformation efforts.

In 2005, the City of Philadelphia made the decision to transform its behavioral health and intellectual disability services systems to improve the health status of Philadelphians in need of behavioral health and intellectual disability services. Since then, DBHIDS and the city of Philadelphia have been at the forefront of international efforts to transform systems of care with an emphasis on recovery and resilience for behavioral health services, and self- determination for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

From its inception to the present, many Transformation Champions have been integral in exemplifying the transformation principles and supporting recovery, resilience, and self-determination for individuals, families, and communities.

A message from former DBHIDS Commissioner Dr. Arthur Evans
