The Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services sponsored an International Men’s Day program this week focusing on the importance of positive male role models.
The agency provides mental health and addiction services in Philadelphia, as well as services for people with intellectual disabilities and children and youth services.
Speaker Chad Lassiter, executive director of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, encouraged men of color to hold on to “infinite hope.”
“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope,” he said. “One of the beautiful things about bonding with me is that we can hug each other. It doesn’t have to be on the basketball court.”
