DBHIDS’ Peer Culture and Community Inclusion Unit (PCCIU) is pleased to release The Peer Support Toolkit. The target audiences for this toolkit are administrators, directors, and supervisors of treatment organizations who have recently hired (or plan to hire) peers into new support roles with the agency. Others, including peer support staff, will also find this toolkit useful.
The interactive PDF presents key information in brief reads, yet preserves your opportunity to delve deeper into subjects -— as your time and interests dictate -— with just a click. The interactive format allows you to access content that is appropriate to you.
At the same time, the toolkit retains the essential benefits of a PDF format. For example, you can share this file by email and print individual pages or the document as a whole. The toolkit is organized in four modules, each addressing specific implementation issues relevant to agencies in various stages of integrating peer support services. The modules represented are:
Module 1: Preparing the Organizational Culture
Module 2: Recruiting and Hiring Peer Staff
Module 3: Service Delivery
Module 4: Supervision and Retention
Learn more about the report by accessing the Peer Support Toolkit page on the DBHIDS.org website.
This toolkit is just one of other tools PCCI will be developing to further enhance and encourage the implementation of peer support and certified peer specialists. Shortly, the unit will be creating a Peer Culture Strategic Plan and the Peer Culture Transformation Advisory Board.
Any additional questions regarding the report or peer culture can be directed to the PCCIU at DBHIDS.PeerCulture@phila.gov.
