Workshops with the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety

EPIC is excited to announce three upcoming workshops led by Dr. Sandy Capaldi from the CTSA. All three workshops are co-sponsored by BHTEN and offer CEUs. Registration is through the Learning Hub. Click here for instructions on how to use the Learning Hub.
Trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
This training will help participants learn about the various definitions of trauma, ways trauma is encountered, and trauma’s effects on the mind and body. Common reactions to trauma and a review of PTSD symptoms will also be discussed. The course will also introduce an effective model of treatment for PTSD, Prolonged Exposure therapy.

Introduction to Anxiety Disorders
This training will help participants learn about terminology associated with anxiety and anxiety disorders, the different types of anxiety disorders as defined by the DSM-5, and theory of how anxiety disorders are developed and maintained. The course will also briefly introduce exposure therapy for anxiety disorders.

Exposure Therapy for Anxiety Disorders
This training will help participants learn about cognitive behavioral conceptualizations of anxiety disorders, emotional processing theory, and the specific applications of emotional processing theory to various anxiety disorders. The course will also review basic CBT techniques, including – assessment, psychoeducation, exposure techniques, and homework assignments.
