Trainees learn about compassion satisfaction, compassion fatigue, secondary trauma, vicarious trauma, and burnout. Participants learn various self-care strategies including body awareness, mental imagery, self-understanding, self-talk, creative play, supervision and peer support, arrangement of the physical workspace, and boundaries. This training includes reflective exercises, guided activities, and didactic material.
**Each training is CE/CEU eligible.**
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
• Identify four ways their work can negatively impact them.
• Describe eight self-care strategies.
• Identify at least four specific self-care strategies for consistent implementation.
Target Audience: Human service professionals, community partners, master’s level clinicians, or clinicians in training.
Presenter: Meagan Corrado, DSW, LCSW, has trained over 8,000 clinicians, community leaders, and trauma survivors across 22 innovative training programs. Dr. Corrado has authored 10 books and founded Storiez Trauma Narratives. She earned her master’s degree in social services from Bryn Mawr College and her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
