Together We Are One – Juntos Somos Uno
July 16, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
2019 Cultural and Linguistic Competency Symposium “Together We Are One – Juntos Somos Uno” — Join us for a day of networking, lively discussion, sharing, and learning best practices for creating a culture of inclusion in our city as we recognize Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.
In order to ensure that all Philadelphians have access to culturally and linguistically competent systems that care, we all need to work together. Cultural and linguistic competence is a continuously evolving process that is critical in establishing and maintaining an integrated system of care equipped to assess the effectiveness of behavioral health service delivery to Philadelphia’s diverse citizenry.
The Philadelphia System of Care Cultural and Linguistic Competence Committee has developed the symposium to share our insights, challenges, and successes for enhancing CLC programming for youth and families.
The Symposium will feature youth, family, and system partners as experts in the field sharing their CLC journey. Sessions throughout the day will explore the following topics:
- Navigating Across Systems of Care from a CLC Perspective
- Building a CLC Assessment for Systems of Care
- Rice, Beans, and CLC Committees: Valuing our Differences for our Shared Goals
- Cultural Wraparound: Embracing Youth and Family Culture in High Fidelity Wraparound
- Celebrating National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
Attendees will learn practical tools for becoming more culturally competent in their work, which will improve their confidence and effectiveness for enhancing cultural and linguistic competency across Philadelphia.
You will find the agenda of the Symposium and registration information on the Philadelphia System of Care website.
We look forward to having you join us at this important event in celebration of National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. If you have any questions, please call 215-413-3100 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
