Resilience Across the Rainbow:
Suicide Prevention in LGBTQ+ Communities
Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Free Library, Walnut Street West
201 S. 40th St., Philadelphia, PA 19104
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and other sexual and gender minorities are at greater risk of attempting and dying by suicide than straight and/or cisgender persons. Interpersonal, community, and structural factors contribute to elevated risk. At the same time, some of these factors can also promote resilience—the ability to bounce back after a setback. LGBTQ+ communities have historically demonstrated great resilience in the face of adversity.
