Even before COVID-19 so dramatically affected our lives and our workforces, an estimated 264 million people around the world suffered from depression (American Heart Association). With global rates of depression and anxiety increasing 15-20% over the last decade, behavioral health has always been important (World Health Organization). But in light of the current health crisis, business owners and leaders no longer have the option of not addressing the impact mental health and substance misuse can have on their employees.
