Implementing the Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services Standards: A Step Toward Health Equity

Dr. Vetta Sanders Thompson from Washington University in St. Louis will provide an overview of the Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) standards and their role in achieving health equity. A brief history of CLAS is provided to distinguish the Enhanced Standards from the Original Standards. The presentation will discuss the role of each standard in achieving health equity goals and provide examples of their implementation for this purpose. Participants will be able to integrate the use of CLAS, data, and community engagement to move toward equity in service provision.
