Doors to Wellbeing Presents “Peer Generation: Engaging, Educating and Empowering Youth”
August 24, 2016 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
The Copeland Center is the leader in evidenced-based peer-to-peer support and they will present how to bring that model to youth. This experience will provide participants with the tools to engage providers and youth to learn “trust” that peer support among youth is a viable and important concept.
The event is targeting the implementation of evidenced-based, peer-to-peer services for transitional-age youth (per SAMHSA: age 16 to 30). The new Peer Generation Toolkit will be presented, which will provide youth, and those serving them, step-by-step methods to engage youth and community stakeholders. This project, “Peer Generation” will be the kick-off for a broad scale effort to support peer specialist services among this age group.
