Disparities Lecture Series: Smoking Cessation Programs and Targeting Disparities in Tobacco Use

Dr. Frank T. Leone and the Rev. Jesse W Brown Jr. will discuss the ways that different populations are targeted through tobacco marketing and other ways that disparities in tobacco use are manifested. This discussion will also look at how treatment programs work to address these disparities.
Dr. Leone serves as the director of the Comprehensive Smoking Treatment Programs at the University of Pennsylvania and is an Associate Professor at the Perelman School of Medicine. Rev. Brown is the founder and executive director of the National Association of African Americans for Positive Imagery and has led campaigns to stop targeted advertising towards African Americans by the tobacco industry.
