October 6, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Dr. Neil Aggarwal will provide an overview of the Clinical Formulation Interview (CFI) for the DSM-5 and the implementation into practice. The CFI is used for clinicians to obtain patient cultural views to target risk factors for misdiagnosis, treatment disengagement, and patient dissatisfaction.
Dr. Aggarwal is Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University and a board-certified New York City psychiatrist. He serves as an advisor to the DSM-5 Cultural Issues Subgroup which worked to convert the CFI into an interview and published a paper titled “The Development of the DSM-5 Cultural Formulation Interview-Fidelity Instrument (CFI-FI): A Pilot Study” which evaluate the fidelity of the CFI.
