DBHIDS Job Readiness Academy Personal Care Drive

July 11 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free

The Job Readiness Academy was created by the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS) Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Equity Unit to equip individuals receiving services with the necessary tools they’ll need to successfully obtain employment.

An imperative aspect of feeling confident is well-maintained personal hygiene. The majority of the folks we support are responsible for purchasing their own personal care items, which they may be unable to afford.

The SDOH Equity Unit aims to remove this barrier to alleviate some of the stress associated with maintaining personal hygiene during the process of pursuing employment.

This is a continuous collection of personal care items through the end of August. Items may be dropped off any day, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at any of these collection sites:

  • 1601 Market St., 6th floor
  • 1101 Market St., 7th floor
  • 801 Market St., 7th Floor
  • 520 N. Columbus Blvd., 7th Floor (corner of Spring Garden and Delaware Ave.)

If you have any questions, please reach out to Kadisha Alberga at Kadisha.alberga@phila.gov or 267-990-4764
