POSTPONED — Clinician Workshop: Treating Anxiety or Depression in Adults with Autism
May 4, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
One event on May 4, 2020 at 9:00 am
This event was changed from March 27 to May 4.
It will take place at the same location and time of day.
This workshop will focus on providing effective outpatient therapy to adults with autism who have anxiety or depression.
Based on our needs assessment with Philadelphia community mental health clinicians and agency leaders, the training will include an overview of autism and how it presents in adults, along with information about available community resources for adults with autism. The workshop also will include presentations from adults with autism.
The majority of the training will focus on evidence-based cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) strategies tailored for community mental health clinicians to deliver to adults with autism. Attendees will learn about important modifications to traditional CBT when applied to this population, and we will discuss common challenges that may arise during sessions with adults with autism.
CEUs available to attendees.
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
