26th Annual Divas Simply Singing Concert
August 20, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Divas Simply Singing is the longest running benefit concert in the country in conjunction with World AIDS Day and utilizes star power to help raise money, awareness and erase stigma associated with patients who’ve contracted the disease. Proceeds from past benefit concerts have benefited organizations like Project Angel Food, Caring for Babies with AIDS, and the Black AIDS Institute among others.
DBHIDS will be partnering with the DIVAS foundation providing resource information and free confidential behavioral health screenings during the concert.
The D.I.V.A. (Divinely Inspired Victoriously Aware) Foundation is a national not-for-profit 501c(3) charitable organization founded by actress and honored AIDS activist, Sheryl Lee Ralph in 1990 as a memorial to the many friends she lost to HIV/AIDS as an original company member of Dreamgirls on Broadway. The foundation stems from Sheryl’s deep concern for the lack of attention given to AIDS in the early years and its potential to become a health risk not only for men but women and children.
