H. Jean Wright II<\/strong>, Psy.D., oversees the Behavioral Health and Justice Division, the newest division at DBHIDS. The division launched in 2020 with a focus providing equal opportunities for treatment, support, and community integration for justice-involved Philadelphians with behavioral health challenges.<\/p>

BHJD envisions a Philadelphia where every individual achieves health, well-being, and self-determination. In order to attain this vision, BHJD will work to reduce justice involvement for Philadelphians with behavioral health challenges and work for Philadelphians with serious mental illness to reduce the number in county jail, reduce admissions to county jail, reduce the length of stay in county jail, increase connections to treatment and support, and reduce recidivism.<\/p>

Wright is a transformational, highly experienced, and professionally trained clinical and forensic psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health and proven success in leading people and managing projects and initiatives in the government and private practice; in rehabilitation and correction; and in academia as assistant professor and clinical faculty for Temple University.<\/p>

Wright earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in psychology, English literature and cultural studies from The Ohio State University and a doctorate in psychology with focus in clinical and forensic psychology from Wright State University. He continued with post-doctoral work at Wilberforce University and Cincinnati VA Medical Center.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
