It\u2019s prom season. And in Northeast Philadelphia on Thursday night, dozens of individuals with special needs, most of them younger, put on their fancy attire and enjoyed a magical evening organized just for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees got to walk the red carpet to rousing ovations as they entered the Fraternal Order of Police headquarters. Then, after getting their pictures taken, it was time to dance the night away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20-year-old Elijah didn\u2019t shy away from busting a move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI had fun,\u201d he said. \u201cI got out on the dance floor. It feels special to me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was special for his mother, Schemel, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor me it\u2019s just to see that he\u2019s having a good time,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
