Mora-Lee Moore, an 8th-grade class representative at Gompers Elementary School in Wynnefield, put it succinctly: Mental health is the \u201cmost deeply cared-about issue in our community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Council member Roger Stone added his own take. At Gompers, he said, \u201cEveryone\u2019s always on edge and can\u2019t let loose because they\u2019re afraid that people won\u2019t like what they have to say or won\u2019t listen to them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of this, the Student Council, advised by counselor Akeesha Washington, hosted a Youth Mental Health Week dedicated to supporting students and raising awareness of this crucial issue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
