READ ENTIRE NEWS RELEASE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n PRESS RELEASE<\/strong> May 1 marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Month \u2013 a time that reminds us to take stock of our own mental wellbeing, as well as the mental wellbeing of those around us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The prolonged trauma brought on by COVID \u2013 including isolation and fear for our physical health \u2013 combined with ongoing racial and economic disparities inherent in our system, as well as gun violence, have tremendously impacted behavioral wellness for the people of Philadelphia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Through a vast network of community-based providers, the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS) ensures evidence-based best-practice treatments for trauma are available for individuals, families, and communities.
