Senior Executive Advisor to the Interim Commissioner
LeVan White is the Senior Executive Advisor to the Interim Commissioner for the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS).
In his role, LeVan will be responsible for creating and coordinating opportunities for direct dialogue between organizations, government and community stakeholders, providers, academic institutions, and the community at large in an effort to ensure all voices are reflected in the policies, practices, and behavioral health wellness programing across the system.
His efforts will create an opportunity to bring new voices to the table and ensure that equitable participation from diverse populations will continue to inform the work of DBHIDS.
Prior to working with DBHIDS, LeVan had over 20 years experience in the behavioral health industry. This lifelong commitment continues with ongoing efforts to improve the health and well-being of his community.
LeVan earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Morgan State University in Baltimore. In 2008, he graduated from Leadership Philadelphia, which further strengthened his vision and passion for serving people in Philadelphia. LeVan received his master’s degree in business administration in healthcare from Eastern University.
