Chief People Officer
George H. Hanson, CPA, Esq., is the Chief People Officer at the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS). In this role, Hanson is tasked with developing an outcomes-oriented infrastructure to integrate processes, work to improve integration of Human Resources across DBHIDS, and further develop workplace wellness initiatives ensuring a smooth flow of information and services that are aligned with the goals and strategic priorities for the department.
Prior to joining DBHIDS in October 2018, Hanson began his career as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers and has experience in project management, auditing, strategic planning, finance, internal control design and effectiveness, process re-engineering, and human resources leadership. Throughout his career, Hanson has managed human resource departments and functions, led engagement project teams, and developed a system of internal controls and reporting in the United States and the Caribbean. Hanson has spent more than 10 years in human resources and finance at accounting firms, a real estate development company, an information technology firm and, most recently, Holmes & Co., where he was the senior consulting manager.
Hanson was born and raised in Jamaica and is a graduate of Harvard University Graduate School of Business, Howard University School of Law, and Drexel University.
